Family: Nymphalidae (brush-footed butterflies).
Geographic Distribution: North, Central and South America. Mexico to Brazil.
Wingspan: 40-41 mm (1.57-1.61 in).
Larval host plants: Passiflora spp. (Passifloraceae).
Habitats: Open areas from sea level to 1200 meters.
Identification: Has shorter broader wings thatn other heliconiines and comparatively short antennae. This species has a broad black hindwing margin.
