Family: Papilionidae (swallowtails).Geographic Distribution: Africa. Sierra Leone to Kenya to the Cape of South Africa.
Wingspan: 90-120 mm (3.5 - 4.75 in).
Larval host plants: Citrus sp., Fagara sp., Teclea sp., Vepris sp., Toddalia sp., Calodendrum sp., and other species of Rutaceae.
Habitats: Forest, bush, savannah.
Identification: Sexually dimorphic. Both sexes are black with blue stipes running the length of the fore and hindwings. In the female, the stripe is greenish; females also lack the white hindwing stripe present in males.
