Family: Nymphalidae (brush-footed butterflies).

Larval host plants: Plantains (Plantago spp.).
Habitats: Generally in fields and along shorelines.
Identification: Buckeyes have very characteristic eyespots that make them easily identifiable, although the markings can be variable.
