Family: Nymphalidae (brush-footed butterflies).
Geographic Distribution: Asia. India and Pakistan to southern China and Taiwan.
Wingspan: 90-120 mm (3.5 - 4.75 in).
Larval host plants: Girardinia spp. and Strobilanthes spp.
Habitats: Tropical forest.
Identification: The upperside of the wings are brightly colored with orange and purplish blue. The underside of the wings, coupled with the unique wing shape, make it an outstanding leaf mimic.
