Family: Nymphalidae (brush-footed butterflies).
Geographic Distribution: Africa, Asia, Australia. Africa to India, Malaysia, Japan and Australia.
Wingspan: 70-80 mm (2.75-3.25 in).
Larval host plants: Milkweeds (Asclepias spp.).
Habitats: Lowlands.
Identification: Tremendous amount of variation with color patterns. All are orange and black, and most have dark forewing tips with white spots.
