Family: Nymphalidae (brush-footed butterflies).
Geographic Distribution: North, Central and South America. Mexico, Central America, Brazil, Peru.
Wingspan: 70-75 mm.
Larval host plants: Ruellia spp., Blechum spp.
Habitats: Tropical rain forests at high altitudes.
Identification: A relatively large butterfly with brown wings with a striking white band on each wing, orange tips on forewings.
